Plant-Based Holiday Party Catering in NYC: A Planner's Guide

Planning an NYC holiday party? Compare plant-based catering formats, see sample menus for 30 guests, and get a booking timeline and logistics checklist.

The office holiday party has a simple job: make people glad they stayed. The catering can undo that fast, usually when the vegans get a sad salad, the gluten-free crowd gets a warning, and everyone else gets the same tray they had last year.

A fully plant-based menu solves most of that in a single order, because no one has to ask which dish is theirs. This guide covers which format fits your party, how much to order for 30 guests, and when to book. For everyday team meals, see our office catering guide.

Choose your party format

Start with how people will actually eat. Will they be standing with a drink, or sitting down with a fork?

  • Cocktail style, for after-work parties and mingling: Cocktail Party platter (serves 15), Apero Board, Veggie Sushi Tray or Falafel Tray (each serves 10).
  • Family-style buffet, for sit-down team dinners: Coconut Curry, Chili Bowl, Pasta Bolognese and Harvest Salad trays (each serves 6).
  • Individual bowls, for remote-friendly teams or staggered schedules: Individually packed bowls, so everyone gets their own.
  • Holiday breakfast, for teams that won't stay late: Breakfast Bundle (serves 12) or Banana Bread (serves 10).
  • Private party, when you'd rather not host in the office: A party at a Le Botaniste location. Ask us about space at the location you have in mind.

How much to order for 30 guests

Here are two sample orders, built from the serving counts on our catering nutrition sheet. Send us your date and headcount for a quote.

Cocktail party, 30 guests

  • 2 Cocktail Party platters (15 each)
  • 1 Veggie Sushi Tray (10)
  • 1 Mini Assortment (25) for something sweet

Sit-down buffet, 30 guests

  • 2 Coconut Curry trays (6 each)
  • 2 Chili Bowl trays (6 each)
  • 1 Harvest Salad tray (6)
  • 3 Baked Goods Assortments (12 each)

Worried about whether the food will be filling? This is what each serving delivers, calculated from our Fall 2026 family-style nutrition sheet:

  • Japanese Bowl: 15.5 g protein, 6.2 g fiber per serving. Not labeled gluten-free on our menu.
  • Chili Bowl: 15.2 g protein, 8 g fiber per serving. Labeled gluten-free.
  • Pasta Bolognese: 14.2 g protein, 9.7 g fiber per serving. Labeled gluten-free.
  • Coconut Curry: 13.5 g protein, 9.2 g fiber per serving. Labeled gluten-free.
  • Moroccan Stew: 7.2 g protein, 7.2 g fiber per serving. Not labeled gluten-free.

The gluten-free labels come from our restaurant menu, so please confirm them with our catering team if a guest has celiac disease or an allergy.

When to book your holiday catering

Holiday dates fill first, so work back from your party:

  1. Four weeks out: Set the date, budget and format. If you want a private party, ask about space now.
  2. Three weeks out: Send your inquiry to our catering team. We typically respond within 24 hours.
  3. One week out: Confirm your headcount and collect dietary needs and allergies.
  4. Two to three days out: Lock in any changes by phone or email.
  5. The day before: Confirm the delivery window and who will receive the order.

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice, and we'll try to accommodate last-minute requests up to two hours before your event. Orders placed after 6 p.m. for the next day carry a 20% rush fee.

Your catering logistics checklist

The food is the easy part. These are the details that tend to go wrong:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery: Provided on request only, so ask when you order. Our serviceware is compostable.
  • Setup: Basic setup is available on request, and additional charges may apply.
  • Delivery area: We cover most of Manhattan and core Brooklyn neighborhoods. Queens and Long Island are case by case.
  • Building access: Check freight rules and tell us the name of the person receiving the order.
  • Gratuity: At your discretion. We recommend 15 to 20%, which goes directly to the team handling your order.
  • Drinks: Ask us when you order. Our menu includes kombucha, iced tea and lemonade.
  • Allergies: Send them with your order, not on the day. Our menu includes nuts, soy, sesame and buckwheat.

Holiday catering FAQ

Will non-vegan guests be happy? That depends on the food, not the label. Choose hearty dishes such as the Chili Bowl or Pasta Bolognese, and most guests will simply see dinner.

Is there a minimum order? No. We don't have a minimum order, so tell us what you need and we'll see what fits.

Can you cater breakfast? Yes. Email us about breakfast options for your group.

Can we change our order? Call (929) 928-6258 or email catering@lebotaniste.us. Ask about our cancellation policy when you book.
